Flying Star Feng Shui 2014: A new beginning

On February 4th the yearly Flying Stars shift position and a new feng shui year begins.  Each year the Stars set up shop in a new direction and begin to influence the area of life associated with that direction either positively or in a more challenging way.  What many people who follow Flying Stars don’t know is that there is a Flying Star ‘theme’ of the year, which adds another layer of influence to each direction and 2014 is no exception.

Unlike the calendar year the Flying Star year begins February 4, 2014 and this is where each of the 9 Flying Stars will position themselves and the areas of your life they will influence:

July 2013 Flying Star Feng Shui outlook

It’s that time again! The July Flying Stars move into place on the 7th until early August. Here is the outlook for the month:

Southeast – This direction can bring money and health obstacles. If you’re interested in getting a loan for a new car, home or other item the banks may not be as receptive to your request this month.

South – If you’ve been looking for a job, new clients or trying to increase sales to existing clients spend time in the south this month. This area is great for job hunters, sales people and entrepreneurs especially if you’re a woman.

Southwest – Arguments between mothers and sons and/or women and men in your place of business are more likely to occur in the SW area of your building this month.

West – This direction is wonderful for romance and fun. It can also be good for your finances. For more detailed information go here: July Flying Stars

Center – While the south is good for career the Stars in the Center gua are not. Try to avoid this area if possible.

East – The Flying Stars in the east can bring moodiness and cranky people – mainly other family members. This is another area that reminds us to keep a sense of humor this month which is not always easy to do with your own family.

Northeast – Once again this direction is a GREAT source of positive energy this month. If you’re interested in taking a class, finding a mentor or getting advice this is a great month to do it. For more detailed information and feng shui activations click here: July Flying Stars

North – This area is good for travel but can create health problems especially around water. If you go swimming or go on a trip where sanitary conditions aren’t the best make sure the water is clean before you swim in or drink it.

Northwest – This area is prone to arguments between men so if there are any men you work with or live with who don’t generally get along keep them out of the NW area of the building/home if you can.

April 2011 Flying Star Feng Shui outlook

The double energy of the Flying Stars in March created quite a bit of havoc not only for Japan, but for many others as well.  I hope you were one of the lucky ones who was able to capture some of the double Windfall, Prosperity, Relationship, Fame and Career success luck that was also available through the Flying Stars in March.

Here is your Flying Star Feng Shui outlook for April 2011:

Southeast – This month there is a double metal clash on the area that represents wealth and money.  We’re likely to see problems on Wall Street and industries related to finances like banks, brokerage houses and investment firms.  The Stars in the southeast also increase the odds of robbery so it’s quite possible that you hear about an increase in bank robberies in your area or that a prominent bank is robbed that we hear about nationally or internationally.

South –  Here we have what is called ‘bullfight sha’ which means arguments between mothers and sons.  I’ve also seen this manifest itself as disagreements between female bosses and male employees.  If you are a mom with a son or are a woman who works with younger men (or a man who works with older women) be sure to keep your sense of humor this month.

Southwest – This month has an interesting combination of Stars because you could feel this energy in one of two ways.  Since the southwest is the area for marriage and love you could find that you experience some kind of unexpected change with your partner.  On the one hand the change could make your relationships stronger.  On the other hand if your relationship is on rocky ground you could decide it’s time to seek the help of a counsellor or call it quits so that you can move forward.  In any case, these Stars bring up the unexpected.

East – This is another area where we could experience unexpected news with regard to our families, perhaps a parent or sibling.   Our government (local, state and/or national) may decide to pass a law that offers a temporary tax break or temporary financial assistance to a group of people.  If they do it’s likely to create problems in the long run.

Center – The center gua is good for romance.  Whether you’re dating or married this is nice energy to have this month so be sure to activate this area even if you don’t activate any of the others.  This area also increases the chance of making money through investing but do your homework first to make sure you understand all the risks involved.

West – If you’re a student or have children in school this is a great area of the house to study because this month the Flying Stars support academic success.  It’s also a good area for those looking to change jobs.

Northeast – This area is challenging for relationships especially if the woman in the home tends to be dominating.  The Stars here amplify this behavior so try to avoid spending a lot of time in the northeast area of your home or office.

North – This area creates conflict.  Men who have mental and/or emotional problems could find that the Stars make these issues even more challenging, especially as it relates to work.

Northwest – This is another great feng shui area this month.  It supports happiness and is good for fun activities like family get togethers, parties and marriage.  This is another area you’ll definitely want to activate for the month.

This year I’m offering all of the monthly Flying Star Feng Shui activations and remedies through my website.  You can get your downloadable copy of April’s Flying Star Feng Shui activations and remedies here.

Remember that your monthly feng shui activations work best when used in combination with your yearly feng shui activations.  You can get all of your 2011 Flying Star activations along with your personal Kua Number outlook in my book Flying Star Feng Shui 2011 here:

Flying Star bring disaster to Japan

Japanese tsunami March 2011Yesterday just after 2pm a disasterous earthquake registering 8.9 on the Ricter Scale hit Sendai, Japan, a city 250 miles Northeast of Tokyo.  Following the earthquake was a devastating tsunami that wiped homes, roads, farmland and even the airport in Sendai.

If you follow my Flying Star Feng Shui blog you know that this month all of the Flying Stars have double energy.  This month there is a double Disaster Star sitting in the east.  If you look at a world map you will see that Japan is one of the countries that sits smack dab in the east.  This makes Japan (and other countries in the east) prime targets for death and disaster this month.

Another interesting thing about the Disaster Star is that it is an earth element.  This means that earth related disasters are the most likely type of disaster to occur and earthquakes certainly fall into that category.  Although the tsunami, which is water, caused a tremendous amount of damage this wall of water was a result of the earthquake that occurred.

Since we’ve just enerted this month of double Disaster energy it’s likely that more problems in the east will occur before March is over.

Flying Star feng shui can be dangerous to your comfort zone

Have you ever noticed that some people say their desperate to change their lives and no matter what they do, nothing ever seems to work out for them?

I’ve seen this  a lot with the people I work with.  One woman named Linda from the U.K. contacted me because she had tried a different type of feng shui before and said she didn’t see any change.  She decided she wanted to try Flying Star Feng Shui to see if it would make a difference for her.

I asked her what, specifically, she wanted to change in her life and she said her career.   Linda had been in the same job for a number of years and felt she was ready to take her career to the next level.  But whenever she applied for a better position either she wouldn’t get a call back or she’d go for the interview and never hear from the company again.

She said that because she didn’t make much money she found that there were many times when she struggled just to pay her bills.  There was nothing left over for dinners out much less a vacation.

She also wanted to attract a boyfriend.  She said that she’d been on only a handful of dates in the past four years and none of those dates turned into a relationship.

I took a look at the floor plan of her apartment and could see several challenges going on for her.

First, she had the Illness Star on the money area of her front door.  This always means it’s hard to bring in money which was why she was struggling to pay her bills.  This Star can also keep you from advancing in your career to a higher paying salary because its job is to make sure your cash flow is anemic.  If by some chance you are able to bring in extra money it will be short lived because of the energy of this Star.

The second problem was that her kitchen was in her relationship area.  Whenever you have a kitchen, bathroom or laundry in one of your good directions it drains away half the energy of those directions.  It doesn’t mean you can’t be successful.  It just means you have to try a lot harder.

Her career direction was actually where her dining room was located which was good but with the Illness Star on her front door keeping money at bay was preventing her from being able to advance in her work.

The most important Flying Stars in any home are going to be the ones on the front door and the ones on the master bedroom.  The reason for this is that the front door brings in the daytime/yang/active energy and the master bedroom is the dominant room for the nighttime/yin/passive energy.

Although the other Stars in your home are important, these Stars will have the greatest overall impact on you and your family.

So I sent her the Feng Shui recommendations for her home and she was very excited to get them in place.  Once she did, though, she got a very unexpected surprise.

She said she got a raise at work within a week.

She said a friend she hadn’t talked to in months called out of the blue within a few days to set her up on a blind date.

She said she sat down to update her resume and the words came so easily she was able to finish it in a couple of hours.

Then other things happened she wasn’t expecting.  She said the people she worked with were nicer to her.  (I had no idea they were mean until she told me this.)  She also said that for the first time ever she was able to arrange a one week vacation to go home and see her family.

She was stunned.

She was also very scared.  She was scared, she said, because all these changes were coming too fast for her and she didn’t think she was ready for them.

So you know what she did?  She took down her feng shui activations.

And do you know what happened?  Her life went back to the way it was.  She went back to struggling to pay the bills.  The blind date that had been a hit ended up hitting a brick wall.  She decided not to look for a new job.

But in her misery she was comfortable because it was familiar.  Good fortune and luck were not things she was accustomed to and they frightened her.

Are you flushing your best feng shui Flying Stars?

Are you flushing your feng shui flying stars?Every year I get lots of questions and comments about feng shui Flying Stars and one of those questions goes like this:

“Hi Chriss, I set up my Flying Star activations in my four best directions.  This year I have the _________ Star (fill in the name of the good Star) on my ________ direction (fill in the name of one of your good directions) but I don’t think it’s working.  I ________________ (fill in name of activity you’re doing to help this Star) but nothing is happening for me.  Am I doing something wrong?”

Whenever I hear this I know that there’s probably one of three things happening:

1.  The good direction you’re trying to generate results from is cluttered up (piles of books, newspapers, drawers and/or closets packed to the gills with stuff you don’t use and don’t need, etc.).   If that’s the case then take a day you have off, like a Saturday, and spend as much time as you need to clean this area up.  The more stuff you have in this area the more you block the Flying Star energy trying to come in.  As soon as you free up the space you free up room for the Star’s energy to come in.

2.  The good direction you’re trying to generate results from is occupied by a bathroom, closet, laundry room, kitchen or garage.  Bathrooms, laundry rooms and kitchens all have drains that flush the energy out of the direction they sit in.  This makes it a lot harder to capture the energy of good Flying Stars but on a positive note if the Star is diffucult these rooms help flush the negative energy for you too.

Garages and closets are typically rooms we don’t live in.  We store things there but there’s no active qi in these areas so we’re not stimulating the energy of these Stars in a way that can trigger all of their best energy.

Unless you’re willing to move or to remodel your home (and most of us aren’t) then you’ll want to do something else instead.  For kitchens, baths and laundry rooms try to limit the amount of time you use the washer, dishwasher, sinks, tubs, showers and toilets since these pull energy away and out of your home.  Plug the sinks and tubs when not in use and keep toilet lids down.

In the case of garages and closets you’ll want to use these areas as much as possible.  Come and go from your garage door.  Park your car in your garage so that you are stimulating the Flying Stars there by coming and going from this area of your home each day.  Use the closets each day where the good Stars are located.  These activities will help stimulate the good energy these Stars can bring.

3.  An the most common reason I see for people not reaping the benefit of their good Flying Stars is that they haven’t gotten around to setting up their feng shui yet .  In fact, 80% of the e-mails I get are from people who haven’t activated their Flying Stars.  That makes it really hard to benefit from their energy so make sure you’ve activated your Stars and then give your feng shui 9 weeks to start generating results.  Feng shui works in cycles of 9 so most people start seeing results in about 9 weeks or less.

Good luck!

Countdown to Flying Star Feng Shui 2011 – Day 2

Chinese New Year celebration in Hong KongHappy New Year!  Well, Chinese New Year that is.

Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year and that means tomorrow is the first day of the Flying Star Year for 2011.

Today is a day to relax and enjoy yourself.  That means no cleaning, no setting up your feng shui for the coming year or taking down your feng shui from 2010.

Cleaning your home today, de-cluttering, sweeping and things of that nature could “sweep” your good luck away so hold off until another day for this and go to the beach or do something else fun instead.

Countdown to Flying Star Feng Shui – Day 3

Sweep away the old qiToday is the day you’ll want to get all your cleaning done for the new year especially if 2010 was not a good year for you because tomorrow begins the Year of the Rabbit.

Traditionally, you do not want to do any housework on the first day of the Chinese New Year.  That means you’ll want to do all your cleaning today so that you’ll be ready to place your 2011 Flying Star Feng Shui activations and remedies on Friday, Feb. 4.

Today is the day you’ll want to sweep the house, the porch, the garage and clear away the clutter.

Throw out, donate or give away anything you no longer need or want in the coming year.  This includes toys, bikes, clothing, books, cookware, movies, CDs, electronics, etc.

You’ll also want to open your cupboards, drawers and windows to let the old energy out.  If it’s cold where you live then just crack the windows open enough that you don’t freeze yourself out.  You can even turn on ceiling or floor fans to help blow the old energy (called chee, spelled ‘qi’) out for about 30 minutes.

If you’re into saging your home, today is the day to do it.  You can also burn some incense if you prefer.

Fill your sink with water and a couple of drops of lavendar essential oil and then wipe down the counters and cabinet doors in your home to release the stagnant energy too.

If 2010 was a great year for you then you’ll want to hang on to the good qi so don’t blow it out or do any extensive cleaning today.

Tomorrow I’ll let you know what to do for the Chinese New Year.

Countdown to Flying Star Feng Shui – Day 5

Did you have all the money you wanted last year?  Was your career everything you dreamed it would be?  Were your relationships as loving, supportive and fun as you wanted them to be?  And did you feel in tip top shape mentally, emotionally and physically?

If you answered ‘yes’ to all these questions, that’s great!   If not then take a look at your personal Success, Health, Relationship and Wisdom directions.

Dead plants bring dead feng shui energyYou have 4 personal feng shui directions that support these areas of your life and they’re different from the general feng shui directions.  Because your four personal directions are specific to you they are much more effective at helping you attract what you want in these areas of your life.

If you don’t know what your four personal directions are you can find them in my book, Flying Star Feng Shui 2011Once you know those four directions take a look at each of those areas of your home.

Is the window in your Success direction stuck shut?  This can keep you stuck in a job and prevent you from getting a promotion or better job.

Do you have dead plants in your Health direction?  This dead energy can keep you from feeling your best.

Do you have squeaky doors in your Relationship direction?  This can bring people who like to argue or disagree even about silly things.

Be sure to check all 4 of your best directions today, clean these areas up, fix anything that’s in disrepair and make these areas as appealing and useful as possible.  The more you lift the energy here the better your Flying Star Feng Shui activations will work when you put them up on Feb. 4, 2011.
