Countdown to Flying Star Feng Shui – Day 8

Heinz Tomato Ketchup cookbookWhen was the last time you read that copy of Men Are From Mars and Women Are From Venus in your nightstand?  Or the last time you child read those Disney books?

Are you really going to use those recipes in the Heinz Tomato Ketchup Cookbook you bought twenty years ago?

How long have those magazines been sitting on your dining room table?

If you haven’t guessed already today is the day to clear out your bookshelves, cookbook cabinets and magazine baskets.  Old books and magazines represent old knowledge.  It’s time to make way for new information and new ways of doing things to make your life easier.

If you don’t want to throw any of your old treasures away then donate them to a local book reseller or to an organization like Goodwill.  Your local hospital, library or nursing home may want your books as well.

Have your children get involved too.  It’s never too early to teach your kids about good feng shui!

    Hi Chriss:
What about inspirational art, photos, books…being a designer, I have some ‘treasures’ from my world travels….that continue to inspire me! As well as photos & articles where I have been published , even old family photos that I adore (that also inspire)….
The other stuff can certainly go and be circulated for others to enjoy…..
    Thanks Chriss! 😉 Laura

Yes, Laura. Keep things that you still look at and use that inspire you. I’m talking about the stuff that you don’t truly use throughout the year. If it has been sitting on a shelf or in a box and it only inspires you when you remember to get it out once in a blue moon then consider whether it’s really the item that you treasure or simply a memory that you’re treasuring.
