Flying Stars no good for Tesla Motors CEO, Elon Musk

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors next to a Tesla car

For the past few weeks I’ve seen articles about Tesla Motors.  The name Tesla caught my attention because of Nikola Tesla, the brilliant inventor who beat Thomas Edison at his own game.   In fact its thanks to Tesla we have the kind of electric power that we have today.

The Tesla in the news lately though is about a car.  Something that totally doesn’t interest me.

Then today I saw the headline: Can Tesla defy gravity? on the msnbc.com website and that made me wonder if the Tesla was some kind of hovercraft or flying car.

It isn’t.  It’s an electric car and I’m guessing that the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, is making a statement that his car will replace outdated gasoline models the way Nikola Tesla’s version of delivering power replaced Thomas Edison’s.

The bottom line is that Elon Musk is out of cash and there’s speculation that this superstar CEO who made his first $300 million at the ripe old age of 24 when he sold his online publishing company, Zip2, to Compaq isn’t going to have that kind of success with Tesla Motors.

So of course that made me curious about what his Flying Star Feng Shui is doing right now and I can see why he’s hit a snag.

This year Elon has the Illness Star on his career direction.  This always indicates anemic cash flow and hard work.  So it’s likely that even if he’s doing everything he can to get this car to market and into the hands of waiting clients things just aren’t going to go his way this year.

On top of this he has the Fame Star on his Relationship direction.   His Relationship direction also happens to be the general direction for Helpful People.  The positive side of this is that most of his friends are well known and are standing by him during this financially trying time and will likely continue to do so for the rest of the year.

The negative side is that whenever the Fame Star flies into the Helpful People area this is considered bad luck.  In fact when the Fame Star is here it’s called Fire at Heaven’s Gate.  So although his friends are behind him the bad luck sitting on his relationships may mean that those who are not as famous or as close to him (like shareholders and clients on the waiting list for the car) will want their money back.  There may be a shareholder fight in the future for him.

So the article on msnbc.com is right.  This is not Elon Musk’s year to succeed.

But next year is a different story so those who are willing to hang in there may be surprised by what transpires in 2011.
